This Japanese rectangular Nisshu gin gold coin was minted under Emperor Komei during the last years of  250-year reign, Each rectangular coin can be identified to the reign of a specific ruler, although the date in most instances can only be determined by the period of the Emperor’s rule. This marked the end of the Shogun era and the dawning of the modern age. This artifact represents some of the rare rectangular coins minted in history and is hand framed in a 14K Gold pendent.
