Description
This silver Ducatoon was minted in 1759 in Capen, The Netherlands. This Coin features ships sailing the with legend around crowned arms, a rampant lion with half of it in the sea. Between the dates of 1600-1795 these silver coins were known as a “Ship Shilling” by the sailors of the day, as they are the same size and about the same value as the British shilling of the day. This coin was hand-set in a 14kt gold pendant. This coin was found from the Akerendem Shipwreck 1676.
